Welcome to Seaham Golf Club

Notice to Seaham Golf Club members.

The management committee at Seaham Golf Club would like to reassure members that they will be compensated appropriately for any ‘Golfing time’ that has been lost during this Coronavirus pandemic.

We will be convening when it is confirmed that the return to playing is permanent to discuss exactly what compensation package will be given, so please trust us to look after our members as we always endeavour to do.

Our captain and everyone on the management committee would like to thank everyone for supporting us during these testing times.

Regards
T O Thirkell
(Chairman)

Seaham Golf Club Re-Opening following COVID-19 Closure.

Course to re-open on Wednesday 13th May with the following guidelines in place.

The Course will open from 7.30 am Wednesday 13th May. Maximum of 2 people per group as guidelines state that you are able to participate in golf with 1 member of a different household. This will be on a ‘Social Golf ‘basis with no competitive golf allowed at the moment.

Booking a tee time

·         Members must book in advance using the BRS system or by calling the pro shop between 9am-3pm. No turn up and play allowed.

·         BRS will be available at all times for members to book a tee time mid-week.

·         Saturday/Sunday booking for the following weekend will be available Fridays from 9am.

·         Tee times will be at 10 minute intervals.

·         Visitors will be permitted to play midweek only but must book and pay in advance by telephone only, between 3pm-6pm by calling (0191) 5812354

Arrival and waiting to play

·         Please remain in your car until 10 minutes before your tee time.

·         Putting green can used before you play, maximum of 2 people at a time with social distancing rules in place. Priority given to next on the tee.

·         The locker room will be open to collect golf equipment and for use of toilet facilities. However we request where possible members take their golf equipment home.

·         The locker room will have a one way system in place and will be restricted to a no more than 4 people at a time.

On the Course

·         Stay 2 metres apart from others at all times whilst on the tee, walking between holes and searching for balls.

·         Do not touch stray balls.

·         Do not touch the flagstick.

·         Rakes will be removed from bunkers. If your ball lands in a bunker you should give yourself a preferred lie. Please then smooth over the bunker with your club or feet.

·         When looking for a ball if you have not found it within 3 minutes, please drop a ball roughly in the area you think it was under penalty. This will avoid the need to go back and play another ball and will keep up the pace of play.

·         Under no circumstances should you join up with other groups. Please remain in a 2 ball at all times.

After the round

·         Do not shake hands with anybody.

·         Please leave the course immediately so that there are no gatherings around the clubhouse area.

·         Please exit via the gate at the back of the 18th green. This will be clearly signposted.

General

Hand washing facilities and paper towels will be available in the locker room at all times. Locker rooms will be sanitised at regular intervals.

Social distancing guidelines will be displayed prominently throughout the clubhouse, locker room and golf course. Please be respectful and adhere to all of the restrictions we have in place as this is for your safety and the safety of others.

STAY SAFE. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER.
