2021 Seniors Captain - David Wooff
All Seaham Golf Club Members over the age of 55 may join the Seniors section. There is a small additional fee for the Seniors Section of £4 which covers additional prizes during the year.
You will find that our Seniors are a friendly and relaxed bunch. Our aim is to enjoy both the company and the golf.

Dear Seniors,
I hope you are all well and either vaccinated or due a vaccination soon! Here is some information about our coming season for the seniors' section. If there are people you know who don't get this email, or are not on our whatsapp group, please pass this information on to them.
1. Playing and booking golf 29th March to 20th June.
Except for organised competitions and matches, you must book your own golf via the club booking system, BRS. You can book up to a 4-ball. We are not allowed to gather in larger numbers and so it is not yet possible just to turn up and draw balls, as we did before lockdown restrictions. We will look at what can happen after June 20th nearer the time. There will be no guaranteed slots for seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice. Check the club website on social distancing and any other restrictions.
2. Seniors Competitions and annual subscription to the section.
We plan to run all our competitions this year. We are re-scheduling the Captain versus Vice-Captain competition from 23rd March to April 8th, otherwise competitions will take place as dated on the fixture card. You need to be a paid-up member of the seniors' section to play in any of these competitions. Annual subscription is £4, payable to Chris Holmes, our Treasurer. Normally he will be taking subs on competition days or when he can catch you. There is also a small entry fee for each competition.
3. Call for entries to Bob Vickers Round 1, April 6th.
This is an Ind Stab competition. Email dawooff@gmail.com, or text me on 07946090464, or post on the senior section whatsapp group to enter. Enter by March 29th, Draw on March 30th.
4. Call for entries to Captain versus Vice-Captain, April 8th.
This is a 4BBB Team competition. Email dawooff@gmail.com, or text me on 07946090464, or post on the senior section whatsapp group to enter. Enter by March 29th, Draw on March 30th.
5. Team Matches.
Versus Ingleby-Barwick on 8th April was already cancelled as they could not raise a team. Versus Beamish away has been cancelled by them. We will look to play matches in some form with other clubs by agreement. If any matches are arranged, I will let everyone know to seek players.
6. Seaham Seniors Pairs Opens.
These are scheduled for Wednesday May 12th and Wednesday September 22nd. Booking will probably be by BRS in advance.
7. Captain and Committee 2021 and 2022.
Current committee is David Wooff (Captain), Stu Hannaby (Secretary), Chris Holmes (Treasurer and Vice-Captain), Les Debbage, and John Boyle. Please think about who you would like as Captain and Vice-Captain for 2022.
8. Accounts.
Our finances are in quite good shape. We are carrying forward about the same balance as in previous years. We continue to pay the cost of the hanging baskets of flowers around the club house.
9. New members.
I am told that we have a large number of new seniors joining from Sharpley. Please welcome them and make them feel at home. One of the attractions to them is the liveliness of our seniors section.
