In the 3rd round of the National Daily Mail foursomes, Seaham couple Anthony Thirkell and Mark Noble were handed an extremely difficult tie at Brancepath Castle, going 3 down after 6 holes.  The couple rallied strongly winning the match on the last hole, a truly great performance well done lads.

In the second game in the North Durham Golf First Division Team Seaham suffered a heavy defeat to Chester- Le- Street going down 10-4, only wins coming from M Thompson and an excellent win from Sam Pearson who at one stage being 3 down turned his game round winning on the last hole. Skipper Laverick the stress getting to him a little jetted off to the USPGA to recouperate ready for the next game a toughie at The Ramside

Second game in the NERGA  Rabbits Yellow Division saw Team Seaham hang onto top spot after this fixture at Dinsdale Spa, we came 5th collecting 4pts.  Top scorers for Seaham being M Doggett 33pts and S Hodgson 31pts - not a bad result played in awful conditions.

First game in the N Durham First Division saw Team Seaham with an injury laden squad go down 8-6 at home to South Shields.  Winning games coming from M Thompson, K Booth and G Bainbridge, not the start Skipper S Laverick was looking for.

27th April

In the Preliminary Round of this seasons Clarke Cup Seaham traveled to Seaton Carew although leading towards the end of the tie, sadly we just ran out of steam being defeated 3-2.  Winning contributors being G Dixon and K Booth, a tearful skipper S Laverick had hoped for a good run in the competition.

Hosting the first game in Yellow division of the Rabbits, Team Seaham  ran out top dogs claiming the maximum 8 points and topping the league, top scorers Johny Thunder Whitehead 44pts and Paddy Henery 41pts claiming the glory.

13th April

In the Inter County Foursomes kicking off the Season, Seaham were paired against Heworth.  After being 2 up after 9 holes, Seaham pair C Walton and G Dixon lost after 18 holes 1 down.

In the National Daily Mail Foursomes, Seaham received a bye in the first round, the second round saw us drawn at home to Whitburn.  First time entrants Mark Noble and Anthony Thirkell  triumphed 3 and 1 to go into the 3rd round. Big incentive for our pair in this National Event is the final is to be played at Slaley Hall.

Our best wishes go to Margaret Corkhill presently in hospital with a slight health scare, we all hope Margaret a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her on the course soon.
